Consent
By using our Website/Mobile Application, you hereby consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.Google User Data (YouTube integration)
eBidyaloy offers an optional feature that lets an institute connect its own YouTube channel so that recorded class videos can be uploaded to that channel. If you choose to use this feature, we ask you to sign in with Google and grant permission through Google’s OAuth consent screen. With your permission we use the single YouTube Data API scope youtube.upload, which lets us upload videos to the channel you connect on your behalf. We use this access only to upload your recorded class videos to that channel.
How we store it: the Google access and refresh tokens obtained during authorization are stored in encrypted form on our servers and are used only by our server to perform uploads to your connected channel. Your Google account password is never seen or stored by us.
How we protect Google user data (data protection): we treat the Google tokens obtained through authorization as sensitive data and protect them with the following mechanisms:
- Encryption at rest: refresh and access tokens are encrypted (AES-256) before being written to our database; they are never stored in plain text.
- Encryption in transit: all communication between your browser, our servers, and Google’s APIs is protected with HTTPS/TLS.
- Restricted access: the tokens are readable only by our upload service on the server; they are never exposed to the browser, to other institutes, or to any third party, and access is limited to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.
- Retention and deletion: tokens are retained only for as long as your YouTube channel stays connected. When you disconnect the channel or revoke access from your Google Account, the stored tokens for that connection are deleted from our systems.
With whom we share, transfer, or disclose Google user data: we do not sell, rent, share, transfer, or disclose your Google user data (including your YouTube channel data and access tokens) to any third party. The only party your Google user data is transmitted to is Google itself — specifically Google’s YouTube Data API — solely to complete the video upload you requested. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, AI models, or any other third party, and we do not use it for advertising or for any purpose other than providing the class-recording upload feature described above. The only exceptions are where disclosure is required by applicable law or made with your explicit consent.
Revoking access: you can disconnect the YouTube channel at any time from within your eBidyaloy institute settings, or revoke access directly at
Google Account permissions. When access is revoked, we delete the stored Google tokens for that connection.
